PANEL DISCUSSION

Humanity and Efficiency: Navigating Toward Our Organizational Future

The history of organizations contains a constant tension between the importance of the human experience at work and the efficiencies that make an organization successful. If tomorrow’s organizational landscape is different, how should coaches and consultants guide their clients into it?

Marc Stoecker | Workshop: Innovative Teams: Three Brains to Coach for Creativity and Speed

Workshop Overview: The concept of the "three brains" referring to the stomach, heart, and head is often used metaphorically to describe different centers of intelligence or sources of wisdom within the body. While these "brains" don't have the same neurological complexity as the brain in our head, they are thought to play important roles in our overall well-being and decision-making processes. This workshop taps into our creativity from these three neural pathways to create from using coaching elements.

This workshop is a bit of a sandbox -- we know what we're going for and yet also need to be open with what becomes available during it. We have a path to becoming more self-aware and taking actions to activate our ideas. The speed of our ideation determines our success, at the individual and team level. You're here and have something to create. Let's find out what that is!

Participants will:

  • Learn skills on how to ideate and do it quickly
  • Learn how to connect to other people creatively and powerfully as that enhances ideation
  • Learn how to be with failure more effectively (as people who can be with failure are the most successful)
  • Enhance creativity with perspective-shifting techniques

Marc Stoecker is a senior trainer with 20+ years of experience with a Masters in Instructional Design, has worked in various business and government environments, and is a certified professional Co-Active Coach, ICF accredited coach and Positive Intelligence Coach. He regularly works with individuals and groups to provide career, creativity and mental fitness coaching solutions along with designing and facilitating custom workshops for clients through his company, Prism of Purpose Coaching and Training, LLC.

Lauren Green | High Velocity Meetings: Using Design Thinking Tools to Maximize Meeting Outputs

Workshop Overview: Design thinking tools are an essential part of an organization’s toolkit. We can use design thinking tools to gather information from stakeholders, co-create organizational change strategies and prototype solutions.

We will start with the basics of design thinking principles and layer on tools that you can use in coaching, focus groups, strategic planning, systems thinking and decision-making conversations with your teams and clients.

This is a hands-on experiential session, where will be brainstorming and prototyping high-velocity solutions to OD and coaching, challenges, and trends.

3 Key Takeaways:

  • Define design thinking in an organization development context.
  • Experience design thinking tools in action.
  • Exposure to high-velocity solutions to trends and challenges we see in our field.
