Dawn Rhine is an enthusiastic and experienced Certified Professional Facilitator™ who demonstrates proficiency in group process and structure. Dawn guides groups through the decision-making process with an emphasis on collaboration and consensus. Her talent in guiding the group process has resulted in more efficient and effective decisions gaining the all-important “buy-in.”
As Managing Director of Synergy Forces LLC, Dawn's style is a thorough yet adaptable approach, committed to achieving the best outcomes for groups. Based on her talents and expertise, she launched her facilitation practice in 2005. Dawn offers services to associations, government agencies, and corporations, helping groups focus collaboratively, drawing out the collective wisdom for greater results. She has served such clients as the Architect of the Capitol, Brain Injury Association of America, Chicago Convention and Tourism Bureau, Department of Energy, National Retail Federation, Unilever’s Wishbone Dressings and Skippy Division, and University of Delaware.
Prior to launching Synergy Forces, for nearly 20 years, Dawn served as a management executive leading teams to successfully implement strategies for effective results. While in this strategic role, she served as “internal facilitator for various boards, committees, and internal teams with a focus on strategic planning, problem solving, process improvement, and customer service.
Program Description: Exploring a Method: The Focused Conversation (O.R.I.D.) The Focused Conversation Method—have you heard of it? It's sometimes referred to as O.R.I.D., which is an abbreviation for Objective-Reflective-Interpretive-Decisional. It was developed by the Institute of Cultural Affairs (ICA) as part of its Technology of Participation (ToP). This simple method is a format for dialogue, following a natural internal process. O.R.I.D. leads people through four levels of reflection to allow them to process experiences as a group, leading to greater participation, understanding, and communication. It's been used for a variety of situations, including project planning, team-building, problem solving, and more.
Participants in this experiential session will learn and explore:
• The 4 stages of the Focused Conversation Method
• Trying it out on sample scenarios
• Exploring ways to apply the Method .
