DC Area Coaching CoP - November 2016

(please contact Peggy Linden to register)

Topic: Discover Your Greatest Coaching Asset - Your Body!

The body IS the most powerful tool we have as human beings and gives us multiple pathways for working with coachees! This pathway is always available to us as we experience the world, but so often we are unconscious to our full power and capacity. To support our clients in making transformational change, we must engage the ‘whole’ of US, and the fastest way in is through our bodies! We need to know ourselves before we can engage in the domain of the body with our clients. Where do we coach from? How does our body support or sabotage active listening and trust building? What does our body have to do with asking powerful questions and making direct statements to our clients? We must first learn to recognize and manage our own dance, in order to ‘dance’ with our clients. Come play as we expand our self-awareness and explore strategies for using ourselves wisely with our clients.

Presenter: Jane Kerschner

Jane Kerschner as a PCC and NCOC well-being coach, weaves together her life’s work as
an educator and her development as an ontological coach. She serves as a mentor coach for Newfield’s Coach Training Programs. She recently completed 3 1⁄2 years serving on the Metro DC ICF Board as Director of Professional Development. Jane’s amazing twelve-year coaching journey has included learning opportunities that enhance her ability to coach the whole person – especially accessing the wisdom of the body. The pathway of the body has opened up rich territory for her clients as well as herself to generate lives of joy, purpose, and well-being.

Since we have terrific programs scheduled for this year, we want to provide an opportunity for as many attendees as possible.  To enable us to fill openings please email me at least before 10 a.m. the day of the meeting, Tuesday, if you will not be able to attend so I can contact those who email that day to be on the waiting list.  From now on those who are 'no-shows' will  be placed on the waiting list for future meetings until we have openings.  If you contact me after 10 a.m. I may still be able to fill your opening although it doesn't provide much notice for those on the waiting list.

Cancellation policy: If session is cancelled Peggy Linden will send out an email announcement.  If schools or libraries are closed this meeting will be cancelled also.
